The Little Cricket has already catered for many events in Crawley and Sussex, from community gatherings such as village fêtes and county shows, to outdoor markets, local music festivals and sports meetings.
We have a choice of menus available, suitable for informal occasions where there will often be focal points you want attendees to enjoy. The last thing we want to do is to interrupt things but, when people are ready to eat, we will be there ready to serve them.
You get to manage the event while we take care of the food.
The Little Cricket serves from a van with a five-star hygiene rating and all members of staff that we assign to your event will have a Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate.
PUTTING YOUR EVENT FIRST

Because some gatherings can run for an entire day, the last thing that an organiser wants to be doing is following up with their caterers to make sure things are running as they should be. Your event will have other attractions needing your time and management.
This means you will want somebody with experience catering for large gatherings and who will be able to guide you on which food best suits the occasion. You will want to know if they can cope with producing food for the expected number of attendees, and how well any queues will be managed. Wanting to know if people can be served around the event schedule matters too.

When you call The Little Cricket to find out if we can cater for your event in Crawley or Sussex, one of the first things we will ask about is the number of people you are expecting. This helps us to plan in advance and make sure we have enough freshly prepared food available on the day, but please keep in mind that the largest events will usually require more than one caterer.
The Little Cricket will always tell you what we can and cannot do.
Should you choose us as one of your caterers, we arrive at the venue on the day of the event as agreed with enough time to prepare food so we are ready to serve when people want to eat. We also explain how much space we need to accommodate our van so attendees can be served comfortably, and agree a service period so you will know exactly when food is available.
When the agreed service period ends, we clean up the allocated space.
FOOD CHOICES FOR YOUR EVENT
Event catering should be friendly, informal and well-planned.
The Little Cricket has a choice of menu options suitable for different event types. What matters most is serving freshly prepared food efficiently but without losing our customer-first approach. We have other quick-service options available should you need them but we can also make the food part of your event if that is what you would prefer.
Burger Van Catering
Freshly prepared food such as burgers, hot dogs and jacket potatoes, served to order at a pace that is comfortable for attendees and helps them get back to your other planned activities.
We also have menu choices for any children attending.
Street Food Catering
A relaxed event catering choice for people who want to mix and mingle while eating but still be served soon enough so they can move around the venue to enjoy your other attractions.
Tacos are one of our fast-service street food options but other choices are available.
Hog Roast Catering
Ideal for events in Crawley and Sussex if the organiser wants food to be part of the day. Guests can socialise while food is being cooked, which adds a different dynamic to your gathering.
Hogs take several hours to roast, so hog roasts could be used as an evening focal point.
If you have already arranged burger van hire but want a little more variety, we can happily work alongside other caterers. The most important thing is that your event catering needs are met.
